Welcome to Mom's Joy Room!
What is the Joy Room you ask?
It's a cabinet of curiosities with a heartbeat.
Not a thrift store — a little museum where everything's for sale."
The thrift stores can keep the toasters and the VHS tapes. Everything here has been chosen, researched, and loved. If it's here, it earned its place.
Some shops sell things. The Joy Room rehomes wonders.
Come on in and take your time looking around. My items aren't going anywhere until the right person walks through the door. Is that you?
Every treasure here has lived a long and interesting life: glassware, silver, charming clocks, whimsical curiosities, vintage children's ride-on rockers and toys, horses of every shape and size, music boxes, and a lovingly gathered assortment of antique and vintage dolls. Wax figures from across the pond (we have Pierotti!), sturdy composition charmers (we have Baby Shirley Temple!), hand-carved wooden darlings (we have Schoenhuts!), and cloth characters stitched by hands long gone and so much more!
Each piece was chosen, fairly paid for, and researched. Many come with certificates of history and value. Most were part of my own personal collection. Now each is offered with the hope that it becomes part of your story.
We're here for the collectors and the genuinely curious — the wide-eyed folks who see value in an era long gone, a famous maker, or something that's love at first sight. I see hundreds of years gone and moments in time that will never come again, and I want every one of them to have a soft landing in homes, hands, and hearts that will appreciate them.
So if you're looking for something unique, authentic, rare, something very special, Welcome to the Joy Room!

The extraordinary 27-inch antique wax doll pictured below, has been preserved with an unbroken, documented pedigree.
Gifted to Anna Helen Ely during her childhood (circa 1882–1885), the doll became her lifelong companion.
Anna Helen was the daughter of Eleazer Arelous Ely (1841–1929), a prominent 19th-century Fulton County
glove manufacturer, and Lydia Guest Edwards Ely (1843–1889). Following her mother's passing when Anna
Helen was fourteen, the doll remained a precious connection to her childhood home. She later married
William Bunn Huston, operator of the historic Leroy Huston & Son grist mill and store at Hector Station,
Schuyler County, New York, and relocated to Hector, NY, where she kept the doll for the rest of her long life
until her passing in 1961. The doll remained in her private family collection for over eighty years — a
remarkable, unbroken chain of documented ownership spanning the doll's entire existence.
"Across eighty-six years of life's changing tides, two Annas walked hand in hand — a little girl who grew into a woman, and the silent, beautiful keeper of her childhood dreams."
✦ "When the doors open and the angels appear, it is less a clock and more a small theater — and that is precisely what makes Mr. Christmas Gold Label pieces so endearingly beloved." ✦

To hold one is to hold a small piece of a very large and generous life."

"Five bonnets, five pairs of tiny shoes, five identical faces looking out at a world that could not get enough of them in 1934 — the Dionne quintuplets were the most watched children of their era, and Madame Alexander, from 1935 onward, made sure they would still be together long after the cameras went away.
My First Steiff Bear!
"My First Steiff — three words that mean a child came into the world and someone loved them enough to put the very best bear into their arms from the very first day. Pink for one, blue for the other, and that little gold button in the ear that has meant something real for over a century."
Antique Victorian Poured Wax Doll — 32" — c. 1860–1885
A breathtaking example of Victorian doll artistry, this magnificent 32" poured wax doll is a rare survivor from the golden age of English doll making. She commands attention with her luminous poured wax head and limbs, piercing blue glass eyes, and delicate blonde ringlet wig — all hallmarks of the finest Victorian dollmakers, including the celebrated Pierotti and Montanari families of London.
Her straw-stuffed cloth body, poured wax lower limbs, and original period clothing — white cotton dress with lace-trimmed pantaloons, bonnet, and pearl earrings — speak to her remarkable age and authenticity. At over 140 years old, she is in wonderful antique condition, retaining the quiet dignity and ethereal beauty that made these dolls the prized possessions of Victorian England's most privileged households. A serious collector's piece of this caliber rarely comes to market in original condition.
She would be a crown jewel in any Victorian doll collection.

Antique poured wax character doll portraying Goya's "Boy in Red" painting! ONE OF A KIND!
"Velvet, lace, and a magpie's secret — this little gentleman has a story to tell."
This amazing antique WAX survivor is somewhat of a mystery. As near as we can tell from our research, he was created late 1800's-early 1900's as a wax tribute character doll representing the little boy in the famous Spanish painter, Francisco Goya of Goya's "Red Boy" painting.
Manuel Osorio Manrique de Zúñiga is a large full-length portrait in oil painted in 1787–88. It depicts a boy three or four years of age, standing in fancy velvet red clothes, with birds and cats. This young child only lived to age 8. Cause of death has never been revealed.

Vintage Leather Wrap Animals and Anglo Raja Hand Made Animals Made in India!

"Anglo Raja elephants and animals came from Indian workshops where the stuffing and the stitching and the embellishment were not three steps but one continuous act of devotion — each piece finished to a standard that had nothing to do with speed and everything to do with pride."
